With 5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer, I’ve had the opportunity to develop a variety of learning materials across many government and private sector agencies. A collection of my favorite resources are below.
U.S.F.S. Natural Resource Law Enforcement Seminar
As prep material for U.S. Forest Service’s seminar on Natural Resource Law Enforcement, I worked with a variety of subject matter experts to design and develop this e-learning course using Articulate Storyline. This course was used as pre-work for the seminar, and includes background information on a variety of topics necessary for the seminar. The most engaging portion of this course focuses on interactive “interviews” with law enforcement officers throughout the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina. The course was well received and is still be used for further iterations of this seminar.
An interactive version of this course is available on request.
USAID’s Return to Learning Toolkit Interactive Roadmap
To support USAID’s launch of the Return to Learning Toolkit, I designed and developed an interactive version of their learning roadmap. I used Articulate Storyline to develop the tool, which was then hosted as an HTML file on their website. One USAID client stated, “Great tool! I love the interactive nature of it. I wish more tools followed this format.”
U.S.F.S. Letting Nature Lead Seminar
Similar to the Natural Resource Law Enforcement seminar, the U.S. Forest Service enlisted my help to design online learning for a course on protected area management. This course was moved to a virtual setting during COVID-19, and I was tasked with moving the in-person material into a virtual learning format. I co-designed and co-developed four e-learning modules, which were hosted on a USFS subsite. In addition to the e-learning modules, I developed a communication campaign via Mailchimp for the course, as well as designed the formatting and layout of the USFS subsite.
TRG’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Course
I had to opportunity to support the development of two onboarding courses for my current company, Training Resources Group. Highlighted below, the course on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was a collaborative effort between key players at my company, as well as an opportunity to continue living into our company’s value of DEI. I designed the course using Articulate Rise and it has been permanently integrated into the onboarding process for new employees.
