What started as a course in college, audio engineering has quickly turned into a large part of my professional career. Below are some examples that demonstrate my growth as a podcaster, from producing a single podcast episode, to planning and developing a full season.

The Provider Payment Mechanisms Podcast
Season 1
During my time at Training Resources Group, I was brought on to support a colleague in the production and post-production of the first season of a podcast for our client, The Joint Learning Network. The series, The Provider Payment Mechanisms Podcast, had four episodes and received high praise from the client and their listeners. For season one, I help record in-person interviews, as well as help edit in post.
Season 2
In the summer of 2019, our client came back to us after the success of season one and asked that we develop a second season. This time around, I managed the project and led in decisions with the client on the style of the season, the project schedule, and any other critical decisions during the process. I led my team of two and allocated work between us to help meet our deadline. I was also the main liaison with our client, leading meetings and providing key suggestions at pivotal points during the project.
Alongside the project management role I took this season, I was also the lead editor and creative director, producing all 8 episodes. Lastly, I helped rebrand the podcast and assisted in the redesigned and dissemination of the podcast. A collection of these graphics can be found below.

Longform Podcast Episode
Zombie Stars
At Appalachian State University, I took a course called Audio Documentary, which focused on storytelling through podcasts. For our final project, we had to develop a longform podcast episode and I decided to take inspiration from my favorite podcast at the time, Radiotopia’s Theory of Everything. I researched my subject, sat down my roommate and recorded our conversation. From there, I had a great time finding music, drafting my narration, and piecing everything together. I received high marks for this project.

One of the first projects I did for my Audio Documentary class was to produce a short, 10-minute storytelling piece. This was meant to get us familiar with drafting narration and working with the recording equipment, and I was excited to get started. Much like in my other project, I took inspiration from a favorite podcast at the time, The No Sleep Podcast, and decided to develop an over-the-air, short story. The short is from a Reddit thread, but the narration and mixing was done by me. I hope you find as much joy in my impressions as I do while listening.
